Epsom salt is a natural mineral that is composed of magnesium, sulfate, and oxygen. Chemically, Epsom salt is also known as magnesium sulfate and has many uses and benefits. One important thing you have to remember is that Epsom salt is not like your regular table salt. Instead, it is termed a salt due to its chemical structure. Epsom Salt Used In Bath

For a relaxing and sedative, Epsom salt is the best. All you have to do is, in warm water, soak two cups of Epsom salt and then enjoy your bath. But how does Epsom salt work? When Epsom salt is solvated in water, it dissociates and releases magnesium and sulfate ions. 

Using Epsom Salt As A Foot Soak

Another alternative for using Epsom salt when you do not own a bathtub is a foot soak. For this, all you have to do is soak ½ cup of Epsom salt in warm water, and this will help you relax. 

Epsom Salt For Easing Constipation

Epsom salt can be considered to be used as a natural laxative and is used to relieve constipation. Epsom salt contains magnesium which is often used to treat constipation. For this, mix a teaspoon full of Epsom salt in water and consume it. Using Epsom salt is one of the ways as the magnesium in Epsom salt withdraws water into your colon and helps promote bowel movement. 

Epsom Salt As A Skin Exfoliator

Using it as a natural skin exfoliator due to its coarse texture will help remove dead skin cells and loosen the blackheads. For this, you have to mix Epsom salt with oil such as olive oil or almond oil and form a loose paste. Once the paste is formed, apply it on your skin as a face mask and massage gently for a few minutes. Rinse off after some time with warm water. 

For Voluminous Hair

Epsom salt, along with your deep condition, helps your hair look full of body and makes your hair feel soft. For this, you have to add equal parts of Epsom salt and deep conditioner in a small pan and warm it on a low flame and mix all the products well. Once the mix is well mixed and warmed, apply it to the length of your hair, keep it standing for 20 minutes, and then rinse it well. 

You can even use Epsom salt for removing hair spray. For this mix, approximately one gallon of water with one cup of lemon juice, and to this, add one cup of Epsom salt and mix the solution well and keep it aside for 24 hours. The next day pour this mixture on your hair and massage gently and shampoos your hair regularly.
